Classroom Overview
Offering a good balance between academic and play-based activities, we encourage independence and creativity. Centers stimulate interest in reading, writing, science, art, and math. Group and individual teacher instruction is also an essential part of the curriculum. As each theme progresses, math concepts, language experiences, and science principles are a large focus.

Academy I

Your child will embark on a journey of learning and discovery. This play-based program focuses on building essential skills, including language development, early math and science concepts, and social-emotional growth. We nurture your child's natural curiosity while fostering a love of learning, setting the stage for a successful transition to a more structured learning environment.

Academy II
3 years to
4 1/2 years
Academy II provides a balanced approach that blends play with academics, encouraging children to explore their individuality and creativity. Through engaging centers and teacher-led activities, children develop a love of learning in areas like reading, writing, science, art, and math.

Senior Academy

4 1/2 years
Senior Academy is our comprehensive pre-K program designed to ensure your child is fully prepared for kindergarten. We provide a stimulating learning environment where children develop essential academic skills in literacy, math, science, and social studies, while also nurturing their social-emotional growth and love of learning.

Daily Schedule
Morning
7:00 – 8:00: Arrivals, free choice activities, hand washing, and breakfast (Cook’s Academy does not provide breakfast. If the child has not eaten, the parent/guardian is responsible for bringing food. Breakfast will not be served after 8:00 a.m.
8:00 – 9:00: Gym or Outdoor Free Choice, toileting
9:00 – 9:15: Classroom Greeting, table activities
9:15 – 9:45: Circle Time (calendar, weather, theme introduction, emergent literacy)
9:45 – 10:00: Morning Snack
10:00 – 11:00: enter exploration, individual/small group teacher instruction
11:00 – 11:30: Gym or Outdoor Organized Activities, and toileting
11:30 – 12:00: Story, emergent literacy activities, music & movement
Afternoon
12:00 – 12:30: Lunch
12:30 – 1:00: Toileting, and quiet activities
1:00 – 3:00: Rest time Children will have the option of resting quietly or napping. Provisions will be made for the children who wake up early and those who sleep longer.
3:00 – 3:15: Wake-up, toileting, and hand washing.
3:15 – 3:30: Afternoon Snack
3:30 – 4:00: Exploratory centers, art, or free play
4:00 – 4:30: Gym or outdoor free play
4:30 – 5:00: Physical exercises (gross & fine motor movement)
5:30 – 6:00: Free Choice, pick-up
