Classroom Overview
Our toddler program is a welcoming place where your child can explore, play, and learn alongside new friends. We offer a fun mix of activities that spark creativity, build confidence, and help toddlers develop important skills–all at their own pace. It's the perfect environment for your little one to shine!

Daily Schedule
While care in this classroom continues to be “on demand”, the children are introduced to more structure as they begin preparing to establish a daily routine. Lesson plans, bi-weekly classroom newsletters, and daily communication sheets provide you and your child with a well-rounded introductory toddler program.

Junior Cadets
12-14 months to
18 months
As infants begin developing more motor skills -- such as standing and walking -- they are transitioned into the Junior Cadets classroom. This curriculum focuses on activities which provide visual stimulation as well as those that promote small and large motor development.

Core Cadets
18 months to
22 - 24 months
Cook's Academy recognizes the important developmental leaps that happen around 18 months. Our Core Cadets classroom provides a unique learning experience designed to foster independence, enhance social skills, and promote cognitive and motor development in this exciting stage.

Senior Cadets
24 months to
30 months
Our Senior Cadets enjoy a classroom filled with exciting learning areas and activities designed to support their development. From music and movement to arts and crafts, storytime, and outdoor play, our curriculum fosters growth in all areas, including physical, emotional, and social development.
Child to Teacher Ratio: 4:1
All toddler classrooms have a 4:1 child to teacher ratio.

Daily Schedule
Morning
7:00 – 8:00: Arrivals, free choice activities, hand washing, and breakfast (Cook’s Academy does not provide breakfast. If the child has not eaten, the parent/guardian is responsible for bringing food. Breakfast will not be served after 8:00 a.m.
8:00 – 9:00: Free Play, Clean-up, Diapering, & Toilet
9:00 – 9:15: Circle Time
9:15 – 9:30: Morning snack
9:30 – 10:00: Exploratory Centers or Free Choice, Diapering and Toileting
10:00 – 10:30: Gym or Outdoor Play
10:30 – 11:00: Art & Free Expression
11:00 – 11:30: Story & Emergent Literacy Activities
Afternoon
11:30 – 12:30: Lunch
12:30 – 1:00: Quiet Activities
1:00 – 3:00: Rest time Children will have the option of resting quietly or napping. Provisions will be made for the children who wake up early and those who sleep longer.
3:00 – 3:15: Wake-up, diapering and toileting, and hand washing
3:15 – 3:30: Afternoon snack
3:30 – 4:00: Organized gym or outdoor play
4:00 – 4:30: Exploratory centers, art, or free play
4:30 – 5:00: Physical exercises (gross & fine motor movement)
5:30 – 6:00: Free Choice& pick-up
